Get out the stretchy pants and ditch the scale, the next 5 in 5 Adventure is going to be a cakewalk- or in some cases very dairy.
Kaelyn's first lineup in our 5 in 5 adventures is all about desserts. There are so many specialty stores in the Fox Cities, but we never really went out of our way to try any of them. But that is about to change. We may have overdone it in how many desserts we got from each place, but it was all worth it! We hope you enjoy our 5 Desserts in 5 Days!
Don't know about our 5 in 5? Check it out here.
Day 1: Manderfield’s Bakery
Manderfield’s Bakery has over 60 years of experience in doughy excellence. Working to bring fresh bakery products to you since 1957, and now boasting 3 different locations around the Fox Cities (Appleton West, Appleton East, and Menasha), this bakery exceeded all expectations in quality and price.
I had a difficult time deciding what to get as they offered bread, cakes, tortes, pies, coffee, and more. After a lot of decision-making, we ended up getting a delicious apple strudel pie and bagels.

Day 2: Hill Top Bakery
When looking for one of the best doughnuts in the Fox Cities, be sure to not glaze over Hill Top Bakery in Kaukauna.
In 2023, they will be celebrating 100 years of classics such as donut cakes, fancy donuts, cakes, and cookies. Kaelyn called ahead and placed an order for cookies, as they were recommended by the bakery. When I went to go get them, I saw a beautiful zebra donut that I had to try. The cookies were good, but these doughnuts were the best I have had in a long time.

Day 3: Frio Mexican Treats
Not a big sweet treat lover but everyone else you know is? You have to go to Frio Mexican Treats and order the Mexican street corn.
This cute little place was not even on my radar until this week started and now it is on my shortlist of places to take out-of-towners. There are so many options from savory to sweet and the staff is so helpful in finding the perfect treat! Try the churro bar, avocado ice cream, Mexican street corn, and much more. If you are in the area, be sure to check this menu and numerous desserts out!

Day 4: Mom and Pop’s Bakery
Fresh daily made donuts through a drive-through? Sign me up! Mom and Pop’s out of Kimberly is a family-run bakery that definitely given a small-town feel since its start in 2005.
The drive-through and store are closed on Monday and Tuesday, plus it is quick to sell out on specific donuts, so be sure to arrive early. The dough on these doughnuts was so fluffy and tasted like it was just made and the cream on my oreo donut made it feel like it weighed a couple of pounds.

Day 5: Doughlicious
Our last stop for the week had us going to downtown Appleton for an edible cookie dough store called Doughlicious.
This place offers more than just the tube of cookie dough that you buy at the grocery store. They offer several flavors of cookie dough by the scoop, ice cream, milkshakes, and one of our favorite trends, boba smoothies. We are lucky to not have dietary restrictions, but their website also boasts gluten-free, vegan, and keto cookie dough.
Our date idea? Get one scoop of cookie dough and one scoop of ice cream each and take a long stroll around downtown Appleton or the Fox Trot Trail. If it's fall, you can also people-watch when opposing NFL team buses roll up to the Red Lion Hotel across the street.
